vehicle overview
In Jeep parlance, the Gladiator badge was reserved for denoting pickup trucks made by this iconic American off-roader manufacturer. The current generation of Gladiator is the JT series, a midsize pickup truck based on the Jeep Wrangler and introduced in 2019. Offering much of the same features of the Wrangler, the JT-series Gladiator swaps the former’s traditional SUV body style and trunk for a five-foot cargo bed that can take up to 1,700 pounds depending on trim. This truck has received some custom building by Twisted Pro, making it a unique, one-off truck with some serious performance chops to enjoy. Plus, this truck has the Trailer Tow Package, ensuring that towing is easy.
Exterior and Interior
This 2022 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon Custom comes in black, and the first thing you’ll notice is its Humvee Slantback by Flo Customs sitting atop its cargo bed. Then, you’ll see that it rides tall and proud on a set of Black Rhino Arsenal 20×12 wheels in textured matte black, wrapped in Mickey Thompson Baja Legend tires for maximum grip no matter how tricky the terrain may get. We’re not done with the exterior of this truck, though. It also enjoys Oracle Oculus Bi-LED projector headlamps, a 12-piece LED rock light by Twisted Pros, and a host of DV8 items, including off-road fender delete kit and inner fenders. Then, you’ve got a Smittybilt 10k winch, a Fab Four stubby grumper and a Fab Four vicowl light insert. Furthermore, there’s a Pro-Tec powder coating on the grumper, vicowl, rear bumper, hood and inner fenders for added protection. Finally, the whole shebang sits high thanks to its 3.5-inch Rough Country lift kit. The interior of this 2022 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon Custom includes leather-trimmed front bucket seats and rear bench seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, uConnect infotainment system, a multifunction steering wheel, and plenty of charging sockets. There’s also a Z Automotive Tazer JL mini programmer and an aftermarket camera system for better visibility.
Engine
This 2022 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon Custom relies on the tried and tested 3.6-liter naturally aspirated Pentastar V6 that reportedly makes 285 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with an equally dependable 8-speed 850RE automatic gearbox and powers all four wheels when required. There’s also an Apex steering booster and a Rough Country V2 steering stabilizer in place.
